GWLAD ar ei hennill wrth gael y golau gwyrdd

All systems go for Wales’s newest political party: GWLAD GWLAD

Erthygl Gymraeg. English language translation below

MAWR fu’r sylw a’r cyffro yn San Steffan yr wythnos hon wrth i grwp newydd sbon ” The Independents Group” ymddangos yno.

Gwleidyddion breintiedig yn honni bod yn ateb radical

Criw o wleidyddion breintiedig yn honni bod gwleidyddiaeth wedi torri ac mai dim ond y nhw allai  gyflwyno newid radical ym Mhrydain. Ymhonnus a dweud y lleiaf o feddwl fod pob un ohonynt yn rhan o’r broblem greiddiol ac wedi bod yn sugno ar y deth gyhoeddus ers peth amser.

Yn y cyfamser, mewn modd llawer iawn mwy di-lol, cyhoeddodd y Comisiwn Etholiadol wedi rhai misoedd o oedi, fod gan Gymru hithau blaid wleidyddol newydd swyddogol bellach, sef GWLAD GWLAD.

Taith lafurus ond babi llond ei groen wedi ymddangos yn y diwedd

“Mae hi wedi bod yn daith lafurus ond mae yna fabi bywiog, iach wedi ymddangos o’r diwedd” meddai Gwyn Wigley Evans, Arweinydd Interim GWLAD GWLAD.

Y rheswm am yr oedi cyn y cofrestru oedd fod Y Comisiwn Etholiadol wedi dewis gwrthod yr enw gwreiddiol, Ein Gwlad, gan fod plaid newydd yn Lloegr o’r enw Our Nation wedi penderfynu rhoi enw tocenistig Cymraeg arno, sef Ein Cenedl– gyda’r Comisiwn wedyn yn dadlau y gallai’r cymysgwch rhwng y ddau Ein ddrysu pleidleiswyr.

“Roeddan ni wedi rhagweld y byddai’r Comisiwn Etholiadol yn hollti blew am bethau, ac felly roedden ni hefyd wedi cynnig ail enw wrth gefn sef GWLAD GWLAD, a dyma’r enw sydd wedi ei dderbyn ganddyn nhw yn y pendraw” meddai Mr Evans.

Hapus iawn hefo enw sydd mor gyfarwydd i Gymry ym mhobman

“Mi rydan ni’n hapus iawn hefo’r enw sydd wedi’i gytuno ar gyfer ein plaid- geiriau o’n hanthem genedlaethol sydd mor gyfarwydd i Gymry Cymraeg a Chymry-di-Gymraeg fel ei gilydd ac hefyd i Gymry ar draws y byd” ychwanegodd  Mr.Evans.

Dywedodd bod amseriad y cofrestriad yn berffaith o gofio bod maniffesto GWLAD GWLAD ar gyfer Etholiad Senedd Cymru yn 2021 i’w gyhoeddi mewn cyfarfod yn Y Drenewydd ar ddydd Sadwrn, Mawrth 2il.

“Cofrestru fel plaid wleidyddol swyddogol oedd y cam cyntaf inni. Nawr, fe rydan ni’n barod i gychwyn ar ail ran o’r prosiect, sef dechrau cyflwyno ein  syniadau am gychwyn newydd i Gymru a’r nod o Annibyniaeth i bobol mewn cymunedau ar hyd a lled ein gwlad” meddai Mr Evans.

Wedi penderfyniad y Comisiwn Etholiadol yr wythnos hon, cyhoeddodd Y Cynghorydd Sian Caiach o Lanelli ei bod yn cofrestru fel cynghorydd etholedig cyntaf y blaid newydd- a hynny ar Gyngor Gwledig Sir Llanelli. Cyn hyn, bu’n cynrychioli plaid Gwerin Gyntaf-People First.

GWLAD GWLAD- so good they named it twice!

WESTMINSTER and the Media went into its usual over-drive mode this week with the announcement that a new “The Independents Group” was forming.

Privileged  Westminster politicos singing the same old song

A group of privileged politicians claiming that British politics was broken and that they were the answer to all its ills. The sheer lack of self-awareness among the 8  Labour and Tory members- such a part of the whole problem- was almost painful to watch. Einstein’s quote about the definition of insanity: doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result came to mind.

Meanwhile, here in Wales in a much more low-key atmosphere, the Electoral Commission confirmed after several months delay, that a new Welsh political party, GWLAD GWLAD is now officially registered as an electoral entity.

Perfect timing for registration before manifesto launch in a week

The timing has been welcomed by the party’s leaders coming as it does a week or so away from the party’s manifesto launch for the 2021 Welsh Election, which is to be presented at a meeting in Newtown on Saturday, March 2nd.

“You could say it’s been a long birth, but what a beautiful child” said Interim Leader Gwyn Wigley Evans, of Llanddeiniol near Aberystwyth.

The long wait for electoral registration as an official party was due to the Electoral Comission’s objection to the  original name Ein Gwlad, as an England-based party called Our Nation had decided on a tokenistic “Ein Cenedl” Welsh translation of their name which the Comission deemed could confuse voters.

“Fortunately, we had anticipated that the Electoral Commission could prove difficult, so we had also presented GWLAD, GWLAD as a name, which has now proved successful at the end of the process” said Mr Evans.

Very happy with a name that is so familiar to Welsh people everywhere

“We’re very happy with the final name of GWLAD GWLAD- words of our anthem which are instantly recognisable by Welsh-speakers and Non-Welsh speakers alike and by Welshmen and Welshwomen in all parts of the world.”

“You could say that Ein Gwlad are proud to present GWLAD GWLAD to the people of Wales!”

Mr Evans added that achieving registration as an official political party was the completion of the first part of the project.

“Now, we are ready to move to stage 2 which is presenting our vision about a new start for Wales and the target of attaining Independence for our country to people in communities up and down this land” added Mr Evans.

Since the Electoral Commission’s announcement this week, Sian Caiach, the prominent Llanelli politician has also become the party’s first registered Councillor- on Llanelli Rural District Council. Previously, she stood in the colours of Gwerin Gyntaf-People First.
